Halifax was always my favourite city when I was younger, and I always wanted to move there. I still like it a lot but I think Montreal is starting to edge it out in terms of Canadian cities where I would like to live long-term. Still, Halifax is a fine place and I will be there from about noon today until noon tomorrow while Mare is at a conference. I will be visiting the usual places: Strange Adventures Comic Shop, Loomis Art Supplies, assorted bookstores, Drala (a kind of Buddhist supplies shop), music shops, etc. If I have time I would like to swing through the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and possibly the Maritime History Museum, and find a nice place to eat. We’re staying at a Sheraton that roughly intersects with Spring Garden and Hollis, so that is fairly central to the places that interest me.
